“Tattooed” eyebrows

I went to visit one of my really good girlfriend’s just before the holidays to see how she was doing. Since I am a very busy woman, it is always nice and joyful to see good friends I haven’t seen for a long time. It’s always nice to chat, gossip, and “catch-up” with them as well. Not only did I visit my girlfriend for a visit, but she had a new “transformation” too. Guess? My girlfriend got her eyebrows permanently “tattooed.”

I know that the thought and idea of getting your eyebrows permanently “tattooed” may sound crazy or absurd, but it was my girlfriend’s personal choice to permanently get them done…for good. Say what?? I totally understand that it is the individual’s choice to make these types of beauty-care choices, but why the heck would you want your own eyebrows “tattooed?” Are you kidding me?? Well since she was very happy with her results…my girlfriend was not complaining at all. She only paid $100 for her eyebrows to be permanently “tattooed” forever. Wow.

But I have read stories and heard from people that “tattooing” your eyebrows are the “biggest” thing on the beauty “market” right now. Is it? Really? I was a bit blown away. I’ve heard of many people getting their eyelashes permanently “thickened” or “tattooed” too. I don’t know how that works, but that sounds like a very expensive cosmetic procedure to go through for just a short visit to the doctor’s office.

My girlfriend told me that getting her eyebrows permanently “tattooed” did not hurt at all. I looked at her in complete “shock” and asked…”Are you sure?” She replied, “yes.” My girlfriend did a brief, thorough consultation before getting her eyebrows done permanently “tattooed.” She said the whole entire procedure along with the process of getting them done was not long, and did “sting” a little bit. My girlfriend said her doctor used a procedure where they use a tattoo “gun” to laser remove all your eyebrow hair, and then use the tattoo “gun” to permanently “draw” in your eyebrows. Wow, doesn’t that sound like a painful procedure? It kind of reminds me when I first got my Brazilian wax done for the very first time, but a rather very different experience.

A tattoo “gun?” I would be totally afraid and scared to “death” of having any form of gun or “devices” near my eyebrows or “eye” area. I currently wear glasses, and do have plans to have Lasik eye surgery done in the near future, but the thought of having a tattoo “gun” near my eyebrows is frightening. Don’t you think?

My girlfriend also pointed out that during her cosmetic eyebrow “tattoo” procedure, the doctor put on a softening, moisturizing eyebrow cream to help take down the “redness” and “swelling” a bit within 24 hours of getting the procedure done. I have thought about getting my eyebrows permanently “tattooed” in the past too…but I understand that fashion, style, and beauty will always somewhat change every season during the year. So there is absolutely no point of getting my eyebrows permanently “tattooed.” Sure, it is nice and all to not apply anymore eyebrow pencil to your brows, but to me…having your eyebrows permanently “tattooed” looks a bit “fake.” I am not saying my girlfriend’s eyebrows looks fake, but I don’t think it would look “natural” on my eyebrows.

But it is the individual’s choice to getting their eyebrows permanently “tattooed” or not. What do you think about permanent cosmetic eyebrow “tattoos?”

L’Oreal’s Voluminous Mascara

I love L’Oreal’s line of “voluminous” mascaras. I have been wearing their famous brand-name and high-quality mascaras on the cosmetic market since junior high…..and have never stopped using it ever since. I believe in using the best cosmetic, skin-care, and hair-care products for your beauty care regimen. But when it comes to eyes….I am very much in “love” with L’Oreal’s Voluminous mascara. And I honestly know that I will never “walk” away from my all-time favorite mascara on the cosmetic market because I am a loyal customer to L’Oreal’s beauty-care and cosmetic products.

If you don’t know much about L’Oreal’s famous brand line of their magnificent “voluminous” mascaras….you are totally missing out “big-time.” It is definitely “ok” if you don’t know. I understand that many ladies prefer their own different type of mascara for their fine lashes. I have gone through countless, and numerous numbers of mascaras in the past to truly find the “right” kind for me. Now…I have finally found the “one.” L’Oreal’s “voluminous” mascara has saved my fine lashes and not only does it give my lashes a beautiful, thick, volumize curl, but lasts all day long. I love it. Want to find out more?

For a 0.28 fl oz. (8 ml) size tube of L’Oreal’s Voluminous mascara, you’re spending about $8-$9. It may seem a bit over-priced and expensive for just a small size tube of mascara, but if you think about it….mascara will last you at least 3 months. So for a cost that much for a mascara tube, it’s really not that bad and worth your money. You don’t even have to think about driving to the nearest department store in town to purchase a very expensive, fancy mascara tube wand because….it is a waste of a drive and a complete waste of time for purchasing a $15-$20 tube of mascara that will give you  about the same benefits to L’Oreal’s Voluminous mascara. Just think about it. Right?

When it comes to cosmetic shopping, especially at this slow time of the economy, it is always wise and smart to know what to spend your money on. Not only will L’Oreal’s Voluminous mascara give you more of a thick, volumize curl for your lashes, but will separate and “define” each of your lashes too! Doesn’t that sound great?

The benefits of using L’Oreal’s voluminous mascara includes:

  • Moisturizes each of your lashes.
  • Curls and separates.
  • Builds a “dramatic” effect.
  • “Clump-free.”
  • Thickens your lashes.
  • Sets your mascara in place.
  • Lasts all day.
  • Fragrance-free.
  • Water-proof.
  • No “drying” or “flaking.”
  • Leaves your lashes looking soft and sexy!

So….why not try a tube of L’Oreal’s Voluminous mascara?

Does a UTI Have You Down?

Does a UTI have you down? UTI stands for Urinary Tract Infection. One of the most common symptoms of a UTI is constantly feeling like you need to pee. Your body may have bad bacteria in your Urinary Tract. This should not be confused with Frequent Urination, which is a completely different issue.

According to WebMD, “Your urinary tract is the system that makes urine and carries it out of your body. It includes your bladder and kidneys and the tubes that connect them. When germs get into this system, they can cause an infection.”

If you suspect you may have a UTI, it is suggested that you go to a doctor. Why? Technically a UTI is a bladder infection. If left untreated, this bladder infection can spread to your kidneys. A kidney infection is much more serious and can cause permanent damage to your body. The only way to remove the infection is through a course of antibiotics your doctor can give you.

What can you do to prevent a UTI in the first place? I would suggest taking cranberry extract daily. You can take it in the form of a pill once to three times daily. I have found cranberry extract pills sold all over the place. I’m currently taking organic cranberry extract pills from Whole Foods. They were kind of pricey though (30 pills for almost 10 dollars). I’ve also seen them sold at Costco for about 15 dollars, but instead of 30, you’ll get 120 pills making it a cost-effective solution.

You can also take cranberry extract, by sipping on 100% cranberry juice. To benefit from the juice, make sure it’s 100% cranberry juice and not a cocktail that contains 5% juice, for example. I get mine from Trader Joes. They sell it in 32 ounce bottles under label, “100% Cranberry”. With sub-label “Not from Concentrate”. 32 ounces may not seem like much, but I find it will last me for months, because I never drink it straight out of the bottle.

I find the taste to be too bitter on its own. I’ll usually add it to my morning smoothie or top it off with a packet of Emergen-C dumped in an 8oz glass of water. You’ll still reap the benefits of the cranberry extract even if it’s watered down or added to something else. Combining the juice with something else will make it palatable.

Do “Blondes” have more fun?

I think this statement is soooooo……overrated and absolutely ridiculous. I believe that “blondes” can have fun, but how about other people who don’t have “blonde” hair? Right?? I am a dark, haired Asian beauty…and absolutely proud of not only my hair color…but my heritage as well. I believe that wherever we were born, raised, taught, etc…people should not “generalize” or “judge” other individuals by the “color” of their hair. It is dumb. Honestly, who gives a dam? Pardon my language, but I find it very absurd that others may think that “blondes” have more fun. It is a very “untrue” statement, yet alone very “judgmental” too.

Now I am not a blonde…..thank god. I have nothing against “blondes.” I absolutely think the hair color is very “attractive” and all….but what about people with beautiful, dark hair? Being “blonde” is just a hair color folks…nothing too special to worry about. Sure, it is absolutely a gorgeous, attractive hair color, but quite honestly, if people spent most of their time thinking that “blondes” have more fun, that is complete “bullshit.” Just cut that statement “crap” out of your head. It does not make any complete “sense” to think otherwise. Please.

For example, my wonderful man is a current “blonde,” but I am sure he does have “fun,” but would probably think that being “blonde” doesn’t mean you have more “fun” then individuals with darker hair. Don’t you agree? I had some back and forth thoughts lately and in the past about coloring my hair “blonde,” but wasn’t very sure if the color would suit my taste and hairstyle. Since I am very “picky” on particular hair colors….I’ve decided I will not pursue a “blonde” hair color until maybe later at a certain point in my life. And plus, I have very healthy, thick dark hair, so the “blonde” hair color may eventually damage my hair because of the high “ammonia” that is used in hair dyes in many beauty salons. Think of getting a “perm” done at a swanky salon, and afterwards smelling the contents of the perm “odor” from your hair. It is pretty much the same thing with hair color.

So I honestly think from my truthful opinion that “blondes” actually have the same amount of “fun” then others who are not categorized as a “blonde.” I think we should at least all “agree” on this one. Right? Why “classify” them as the only individuals who have the most “fun” in life? Ugh, I don’t think so. We live in a very “attractive” world, so of course people are going to find others with different types of hair colors beautiful then just “blondes.” So folks, please do keep in mind that not only do “blondes” have fun, but other individuals as well.

You Are Not Your Hair!

“You are not your hair.”

That advice came from a guy friend early on in the new year after I had had a particularly bad cut and was compared unfavorably to Shirley Temple by a so-called “friend”. At the time, I was pretty devastated about my ‘do, didn’t feel like going in public because of my locks, and had a hard time feeling good about myself.

I didn’t send out a holiday newsletter this year, mainly because it would have been filled with stories about my hair and the tragedies---and no, I don’t say use the word “tragedies” lightly—that I suffered as a result of poor hair decisions that I either made impulsively or had done to me by hairdressers who were a little too-eager to use their scissors.

I am not even that picky about my hair. I’m not a girly-girl and I don’t usually make hairdressers nervous as they do my hair. I try to tip well and have tried to establish a good working relationship with my hairdressers.

Unfortunately, none of that helped my hair karma over the year. I went to different stylists, based on different recommendations, finally found the greatest stylist ever, and lost her because I missed an appointment—probably the stupidest beauty-related snafu in my entire life.

Hats are one way to deal with bad hair, but some people have the nerve to suggest (and I don’t know where they get this idea) that hats should not be worn indoors. Which defeats the whole purpose of looking cute in a hat and hiding your hair if your hair is then fuzzy with the dreaded hat head—not to be confused with dreadlocks, another story entirely.

If you complain too much about your hair, you are seen as shallow and somehow less of a person intellectually. As if complaining about a bad haircut puts you on the same level as Jessica Simpson.  If you say nothing, you still get looks from the girly-girls whose sole superiority resides in fact that they have perfect hair (which is ok if it gets them through the day, I guess). I always imagine that the girly-girls secretly want to ask me if I know whether or not my hair is not perfect to see if I am oblivious to the fact that my hair does not look as nice as theirs does. Suffice to say, I do know—I just happen to have a few more bad hair days than they do.

For the new year, I wish good hair karma to all women (and men) who care what their hair looks like because truthfully bad hair never helps anyone.

Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes

I love the brand-name line of the “Ponds” beauty and body care products. But I especially love the “Ponds” wet cleansing towelettes. I remembered from my early days in junior high, I shopped with my mother at the beauty care aisle of the local neighborhood drugstore where my mother would always get her beauty care products. My mother would always be on the “look-out” for sales on cosmetics and beauty care products. My mother had always been a true “beauty” to me since I was a small girl and I would always want to “aspire” one day to become like her.

So when it came to beauty and cosmetic products…I followed in my mother’s beauty care “footsteps.” Boy…did I learn many beauty care advice from my own mother. My mother knew how to take care of her very own skin….so it was also very “important” for me to do the same as well. My mother gave me a brief introduction to the fine beauty care line of the “Ponds” products. Wearing make-up during the day is always a necessity for me since I am always on-the-go whether it be running a few errands, meeting with a friend for drinks, “date-nights” with my man, family-dinner, shopping, and the list goes on. Every time I am “commuting” in my car to complete my day’s “check-list” off, it is always important and necessary for me to bring a travel-size or pack of make-up cleansing towelettes. Being a busy woman and all, sometimes it may be a bit difficult to find the time to head to the nearest sink to wash or “freshen” up my face.

Along with my favorite baby-wipes as a great make-up and cleansing facial beauty-care tool, and of course…my Ponds wet cleansing towelettes is always a cleansing facial beauty-care “must!” Without my make-up and facial cloths on-the-go, that would be completely “tragic” for me because I always need to feel “freshen” up throughout the course of my day.

The benefits of using Ponds wet cleansing towelettes include:

  • Great cleansing effect for your face.
  • Fantastic make-up removal.
  • Wipes away dirt and oil.
  • Gentle cleansing cloths.
  • Comes in different types of cleansing packs suitable for your skin type!
  • Great for on-the-go or traveling.
  • Smells great!
  • A beauty “life-saver!”
  • Moisturizes your face.
  • Great for most skin-types.
  • Good for cleansing for other areas of the body- armpits, neck, hands, etc.
  • Works great for an after-gym “sweaty” work-out.

Lens Cleaner

Lens cleaner are amazing “cleaning tools.” They work especially great on eye glasses too. If you wear eye glasses all the time….a lens cleaner will help “wipe” away all the grease, grime, and oil away. I really love this amazing cleaning tool product because not only does it wipe away a clear view….but I am able to carry my tiny, lens cleaner along with my mini soft cloth everywhere I go. Being a busy woman and all…there will be many things I have to complete during my day and being a “multi-tasker” has helped me finish things on time daily. Ever since I was a small girl, I had always seemed more of a “multi-tasker.” As an adult now, multi-tasking is still a huge part of my life because I am “juggling” many things in my life- School, work, relationship, friends, family, etc.

A lens cleaner will save your life. Trust me…it will. It has helped me ALOT. Not only are lens cleaner work great on your eye glasses, but on other things as well. They also work wonderfully well on CD’s, computer or lap top screens, camera and binocular lenses, rear-view mirror of your car, bathroom mirror, and so much more! If you want a spotless, and “spot-free” shine….I highly suggest using a lens cleaner for a finished, polished look. These are great to keep in your car, purse, bag, at work, or traveling on-the-go.

You can purchase many lens cleaner at any local neighborhood drugstore nearest you. I purchased my lens cleaner at the local Walgreens store near my house. It does not have to be a brand name lens cleaner, but any kind will work perfectly well. For a 4 fl. oz. bottle size for the Walgreens lens cleaner….I only purchased for $3! Seriously! I had purchased this lens cleaner several months ago and the bottle isn’t empty yet! I have used the lens cleaner a lot to clean my eye glasses, but this formula is very good, high quality product that works well on any type of “glass” clean-up.

Also….if you are on the computer a lot or work with them, a handy lens cleaner will do the magic trick in cleaning your computer screen spotless as possible. I use my lap top daily and am always on doing my daily routines, “to-dos,” and “check-ups” on my computer. And of course…I always have my lens cleaner next to my computer desk at all times. I also carry one in my purse and keep a lens cleaner in my car as well. If you are a busy individual like I am….a lens cleaner will save your life! Please do invest in a good-quality lens cleaner…it will help “polish” away all your dirty, greasy, and oily glass residues!

L’Oreal Cosmetics: “Visible-Lift” liquid foundation

Ladies…if you love “L’Oreal” cosmetics like I do….you will absolutely love the brand new L’Oreal- “Visible-Lift” liquid foundation. This amazing, easy-to-apply liquid foundation is profoundly a make-up that will easily even out your skin complexion and….at the same time….moisturizing your beautiful, elegant skin as well. Isn’t that great or what? I have tried many…and many make-up liquid foundations both- stick formula and liquid base bottles in the past, but never seemed to really make me happy with the “after” results.

And to be completely honest….if you are a lady purchasing cosmetics for your “beauty-care” needs, you would definitely know that cosmetics can be extremely pricey. Many sales at local neighborhood drugstores sometimes will offer great, amazing deals, discounts, and coupons on store make-up and cosmetic brands. I have looked “long” and “hard” for the best clear-coverage liquid foundation suitable for my skin type…and I finally found it. The new L’Oreal “Visible-Lift” liquid foundation has made the even coverage on my face both beautiful and radiant. I am in love with this liquid-foundation based formula. Not only does it works very well for my skin, but is not harsh at all. The amazing thing about this liquid foundation is that it will not dry or flake out my skin. I have always had oily to combination skin and my skin can be “sensitive” in some areas.

I also taught myself this beauty trick- For fast, easier application on liquid foundation on your pretty face….always use the best face “moisturizer” to easily even out your skin complexion. Also….having a daily routine of washing, cleansing, and toning your face two times a day will do the “beauty” trick. I used to work as a “beauty consultant” in the past and would give lessons to my own clients about the importance and care for your skin-care needs. Not only did I teach women about proper, clean skin-care, but for men as well. Taking care of your own skin can be a lot of work…but it doesn’t have to be if you are “motivated” enough to learn the proper techniques of  “beauty” and “skin-care 101.”

The new L’Oreal, “Visible-Lift” liquid foundation is best applied with a soft, bristle foundation brush for easy coverage. A foundation brush works great on areas of the face that is hard to get to as well like for example- around the nose area, chin, and neck line. You could also use your “finger-tips” too. But I prefer using a foundation brush since it is so easy to use for faster application. For a 1.0 oz size bottle of L’Oreal, “Visible-Lift” liquid foundation is about $11-$15 at many local neighborhood drugstores. It may seem a bit pricey…but a fabulous liquid foundation to add to your wonderful make-up bag and face-care too.

The benefits of L’Oreal’s “Visible-Lift” liquid foundation include:

  • Prevents “wrinkles” from forming.
  • Anti-aging effect.
  • Smoother, younger-looking beautiful skin.
  • Natural-looking based liquid formula.
  • SPF 17.
  • Serum-based formula.
  • Moisturizes your skin.
  • Stays on for up to 24-hours.
  • Complete coverage.
  • Very light-weight.
  • Long-lasting formula.
  • In 12 great shades!

If you want natural-looking, beautiful, and radiant-glowing skin, I highly recommend switching from your old, current foundation to the new L’Oreal “Visible-Lift” liquid foundation. You will absolutely love this liquid-based formula containing moisturizing “serum” that will give your skin an extra “boost” of beautiful glow!

Women and “Confidence”

Boy….do I admire women who excel and “exude” a strong sense of “confidence” about themselves. For a woman to project a sense of who they are as an individual and to radiate in a very positive spotlight about themselves as a “whole” person is extremely…..sexy. Now I am not a guy talking about why I love “confident” women, but actually a woman who is speaking from my own personal experiences.

Many people may think that a very “confident” woman will have the tendency to seem very arrogant, stuck-up, full of herself, thinks the world evolves around her, and very particular in the types of men they choose to date or marry. The list of traits of a very “confident” woman can go on…and on. But would you rather want to know what makes a very “confident” woman “oh-so-sexy,” and appealing folks? I sure do.

There were many men in the past that would approach me hoping to win my “heart” and “attention” over. But since being a very mature woman in my almost late twenties, my tastes in men have always been the same, but have changed too. I am still very indeed attracted to Caucasian men. I also am very attracted to men who “exude” a strong sense of “confidence” and who he is as an individual. I also find it very sexy that men who are very confident will go after what they want making them seem as the “go-getter” types, extremely hard-workers, and being comfortable with who they are as a person. Now I find that extremely sexy and appealing. My current man loves the way I am and wouldn’t want me to change anything about myself because I have always had my very high self-esteem and confidence about myself. Ladies…if you are with a total complete sweet gentleman that thinks the same of you…you are indeed lucky yourself! So kudos for your very sexy “confidence!” You should feel completely honored that your man appreciates you for who you are! Now….doesn’t that feel wonderful?

For women who have a sense of who they are as an individual also excel in the “attitude” department as well. A woman who has a perfect sense of who they are along with an amazing “attitude” is definitely worthy of a strong, powerful woman. Many women who display this sort of “attitude” persona or image about themselves are more reluctant to push to a greater power of women empowerment and satisfaction as an individual. A very strong personal image of a woman’s “confidence” is deeply admired by others and greatly respected as well. So ask yourself this one simple question….do you consider yourself a “confident” woman? You’re be amazed with what your answers are.

For more information on how to be a “confident” woman, please click here.
