New Year's Day Hangover Beauty Tips (to the Rescue)

Rest easy because several methods are available for you to choose from to erase the signs of a bothersome hangover.

You had a blast at last night's New Year's Eve bash by celebrating solo with friends, snuggling with a long time beau or with a sexy new guy. Either way, you enjoyed a few glasses of champagne while waiting for midnight to roll around. It's now mid-morning, the next day, you note by casting a quick glance to the clock as you climb out of bed. You glance at the mirror and groan at the women staring back at you. Hangovers are not a pretty site but you have no idea how to fix the problem. Rest easy because several methods are available for you to choose from to erase the signs of a bothersome hangover.

How to Apply Festive Holiday Eyeshadow

"Purchase or use shadow you have on hand in violet if you have brown eyes, bronze if your peepers are blue and a taupe shade if your eyes are green."

I have learned that one of the neat ways to make my eyes stand out without appearing dramatic is to apply eye shadow that's the opposite of my eye color. The woman's magazine “All You” backs me up in an article titled “Pump Up Your Holiday Makeup.” The writer for “All You” indicates that applying eye shadow, in a shade that contrasts the color of your eyes, allows others to focus on that area of your face.

Things You'll Need:

Contrasting eyeshadow

Black or brown eye liner

Black mascara

How to Wear Red LIps for the Holiday Season

Red lips are showing up everywhere this holiday season and I myself, a person who tends to shy away from bold lipstick, am putting on a long-lasting version when I'm feeling daring and adventurous. For the longest time I had no idea which shade worked for me and how to apply the lipstick without smearing it all over the place. With the long-lasting version I had to get it right or the lipstick would smear and take forever to get off my skin. You too, can wear red lipstick with confidence throughout the holidays.

Pick the right hue that compliments your skin tone. Many women have trouble determining which color works the best with their appearance. O, the Oprah Magazine recommends placing several shades on your fingertips while you're at the department store. Hold the different colors up to your face one by one until you see the shade that makes your eyes shine and does not enhance any redness in your cheeks.

Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Eye Gel

"It combines organic cucumbers, green tea, and chamomile and Dead Sea minerals."

Does late night partying and waking up early have you looking more like a zombie at the office than a bright eyed human in the morning? Realizing it’s also cold and flu season, you may arise from bed to see puffy eyes and deep dark under eye circles from tossing and turning in bed all night.

Are you anticipating a busy day underfoot where your best face forward, or at least looking awake is vital? What’s a stressed gal to do…?

How to Get Rid of Dandruff Naturally

Beat the Wintertime Dandruff Blues

Winter weather can affect even the most healthy mane from time to time, leaving you with dry, flaky strands. I had my hair highlighted and cut recently and while I love the look, I have fallen, for the first time in many years, to winter's darker side when it comes to maintaining beauty. For about a month I've dealt with an itchy, dry scalp and the appearance of dandruff. Last week I decided it was finally time to do something about it. I searched the Internet far and wide for the best at home dandruff remedies. I've tried out two so far and they both worked to varying degrees.

For my “no more dandruff experiment” one I looked for a homemade recipe that contained ingredients that were actually in my kitchen at the time. (I rarely have avocado on hand.) The first one I found was on allwomenstalk.com in an article written by Fawn Wagner titled “7 Best Home-made Hair Masks.” This hair mask recipe includes the ingredients of bananas, and almond oil. Combine one, mashed up banana and three drops of almond oil. Mix the two together and spread evenly throughout your hair. Let the mask sit for 25 minutes to allow the ingredients to do the job of repairing your hair. The recipe was easy enough and it worked and looked beautiful. However, my hair went back to dry, dull and flaky again after the third day. I would recommend using this treatment a few times to obtain the best results.
