Tips for younger looking eyes

How to achieve younger looking eyes

Yes, the eyes are the window to our soul. Yet, many of us may want that window to look younger. How can we do this? We can do this following some simple tips.

First, when we are outside, we should protect our eyes from the sun. This means we need to shield our eyes from the sun by wearing hats and sunglasses that will block the sun from our eyes.

What else can we can? We can apply the right crams to our eyes. We should be using eye creams that contain the right antioxidants like Vitam C, vitamin E and idebenone. These will help prevent wrinkles from forming around our eyes.

We need to apply the right amount of reams. The right amount is a pea size amount per eye.

When need to apply the creams correctly. We should never rub the creams into the delicate skin area around our skin. We need to pat it in the skin gently. We also should never scrub this area. When we rub or scrub this area, we can disturb the delicate skin and even break those little capillaries.

Finally, everyone should remember to use SPF on their skin, including the area around their eyes. This can help prevent sun damage and aging of the skin due to the sun. Everyone should also have regular eye checkups to make sure their vision is being treated properly. If one needs glasses or contact lens, they need to get these. Squinting to see, can be another reason for little lines to form around the eyes for many people.

Tips for glowing skin

How to make your skin look younger and more glowing

When you think of younger skin, do you think of glowing skin? Young skin does have an unique glow about it.  As we become older our skin becomes darker due to dark patches and discolorations. This is partly due to unprotected time in the sun and an increase in the melanin and even causes the melanin to clump together in cells on the top layer of our skin. However, there are some things that we can do help slow down this process.

We can begin by making it a ritual to applying a moisturizer onto our face that contains SPF and doing so before we step outdoors daily.  We should also use face products that contain vitamin C. This will help us fight wrinkles and help even out our skin tone.

Next, we could use make a face mask that contains cucumber. All we need to do is brew a cup of white tea add two tablespoons of honey, two tablespoons of aloe and one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice.  Stir the ingredients all together.  Now add some slicked cucumber and refrigerate the entire mixture overnight.  In the morning, apply the cucumber slices onto your face for three to 15 minutes. The cucumber slices will have absorbed the rest of the ingredients over night.

Another way to help make yourself looking younger and having glowing skin is by choosing the right foundation and concealer, as well as applying it correctly. Never cake these products onto your face. This will make your appear older. Use a liquid foundation and consider combining a dime size amount of liquid bronzer to your foundation, as you apply both to your face.  The bronzer can work as a concealer to help hide your flaws, therefore allowing you to skip your usual your concealer.

Finally, drink plenty of water. Water will help your skin dehydrated, which will keep it looking younger and refreshed.

Calm eye puffiness

Tips to calm and reduce eye puffiness

Nobody wants their eyes to look puffy. Puffy eyes make us look like we haven’t had any sleep or have been crying. This is not a look that makes us look attractive or sexy. Yes, there are many reasons why one’s eyes may look puffy: lack of sleep, allergies and crying are some of those reasons. Thankfully, no matter what the reason there are steps we can take to help calm and reduce the puffiness.

First, begin by looking at your diet. Do you eat a lot of salt? Salt can cause you to retain water throughout your body, including around your eyes. Water around your eyes can cause puffiness. Thus, if you eliminate some of the salt from your diet, you may eliminate some of your eye puffiness.

Next, consider how you sleep. Do you sleep with your head flat to the bed? If you elevate your head even  a little, fluid may not form around your eyes as much. All you may need to do is sleep with an extra pillow underneath your head.

In the morning, do you often awake with puffy eyes? If you do, consider purchasing some de-puffing gel that contains caffeine. You may also want one that contains some anti-inflammatory ingredients such as chamomile and cucumber, too.

A simple at home solution, you can also try to eliminate puffiness around your eyes is to place tea bags onto your eyes. The best one is black caffeinated tea bags. Place these tea bags in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Then place them onto your eyes for ten minutes. The mixture of cold and caffeine will help constrict the blood vessels of your eyes and help drain the fluid. Another at home solution is to use a gel mask that you chill in the refrigerator. The best gel masks are the ones without the eye holes.

If none of these solutions works, speak to your doctor and see if he thinks allergies could be the corrupt for your puffiness.

Tips on hiding your roots

How to hide your roots until you’re ready to re-color your hair

You love your hair color. You don’t even mind that time or money it takes to create that color. However, life does make it hard sometimes to schedule that appointment or even to make time to do that coloring process, yourself at home. This is why it is essential to know some tips on how to hide those roots when your hair begins to grow out a bit quicker than you would like.

No, you don’t have to wear a scarf or a hat on your head all the time. First, you could simply repart your hair. Yes, the part of your head is the first tail tale sign that you need to recolor your hair. For this reason, if you change your part, you may be able to go another whole week without re-coloring. Plus, who knows you may like the new look. You may even enjoy the look of a messy part.

Next, consider adding more volume to your hair. To do this, the key is to wear your hair loose. This means you won’t be pulling your hair back or calling attention to those roots. You can add volume by teasing your hair. Begin teasing your hair at the root area. Next, create that new part.

Finally, if you don’t like any of these tips, you hate hats, as well as scarves, you may want to consider if you have the time to apply a root touch up kit to your hair. Yes, this will be quicker than going to the hair salon. However, if you color your hair yourself at home, this kit may take almost as long as your complete coloring process.

Collagen lips: yay or nay?

Are your lips big enough?

Slate just ran a great feature about the growing lips of women; the writer did not discuss whether the lips were getting looser, but instead reflected on the size of the lips and which woman inspired others to surgically or collgenically (my word, not theirs) enhance their lips.

According to the Slate writer who was under the direct tutelage of a very pro-cosmetic surgery Vogue editor for a number of years, Angelina Jolie’s apparently luscious lips also inspired the collagen lip infusion with copy cats everywhere.

Are big lips a positive trend in the world? Should we all be searching for Groupons for collagen?

Maybe yes and maybe no. It’s difficult to say because big lips don’t look as good on everyone’s face. Obviously women under a certain age look fantastic with a little lush added to their lips, but women over the age of seventy might not want to wear so much lipstick and/or lip gloss with their collagen-infused lips lest someone confuse them for Stiffler’s great aunt as these images (also from the Slate article) will attest to.

Would you consider getting plastic surgery on your lips? Would you inject collagen into your lips? I personally wouldn’t even consider getting collagen injected in my lips for a few reasons.

The first problem for me is not that my lips wouldn’t benefit, but that the collagen injections are just animal fat. I’m not a vegan by any means, but I prefer adding my animal fats the old fashioned way--by eating meat.

The second problem for me is that the collagen injections would be repetitive. Every three months or so, you’d need your lips done again. If you missed a collagen injection cycle, people might start to notice how tight-lipped you were once you missed an injection.

The third problem is that I’ve so far avoided all cosmetic surgeries. That doesn’t mean that the doctors aren’t hawking some ideas to me in the media now and then or that I’m without flaws, but that I am honestly not dating a celebrity and am not in the public eye, so my needs for cosmetic surgery might not rival any of the Kardashians. And, no, I am not planning on injecting any collagen or anything else into my butt either.

So what do you think? Yay or nay on collagen injections? Is the cost worth it?

However, for $11.99 you can do your nails many times. This is a lot cheaper than many trips to your local manicurist.

The right way and time to apply skin products

Timing is key for applying skin products

Yes, you must use the right skin products. These products can help moisturize the skin and they can help stop premature aging. However, the key is not just what products you use. The key is also when use you apply them.

Serums should always be applied in the mornings and again at night. It doesn’t matter if they contain skin lightening or anti-aging ingredients. They best way to apply them is by patting them on your entire face. Retinol cream should be applied at night. During the day, light can cause them to deactivate. Apply these creams by patting them onto your face. Moisturizers can be used twice a day, if your skin is dry. If your skin is oily, only use it once a day and apply it at night. Pay close attention to the areas around your mouth.

Eye cream should be applied twice a day, both during the morning and at night. Apply a pea sized amount underneath your eyes and around the upper eye lids. Finally, apply around the area where crow’s feet can appear. Apply with your ring finger. Never press hard or you can injury this vulnerable area of your skin.

Sunscreen should be used daily, even during the winter months. Apply a quarter size amount on your face, using your finger or a makeup brush. You should start along your hairline and jaw line. Slowly, work your way in toward your face and down to your neck. Finally, never go to bed with your makeup on your face. If you are too tired to completely wash it off with water and your favorite face cleanser, use a face wipe. You can even keep these pre-moistened wipes near your bed for easy access, for those nights when you are really tired.

Tips on making your lipstick last

How to making that perfect lipstick shade last longer

You search and search. Finally, you find that perfect lipstick shade that matches your complexion and makes your face pop.  Now that you have found it, you want it to the look to last when you apply it.  What can you do to make it last?

First, you can begin by prepping your lips every single time you wear it. You can do this by gently washing your lips off with a damp washcloth. Then you can apply a lip balm over your lips. Wait a few minutes and wipe off the excess lip balm. This will help ensure that you don’t over apply the lipstick to dry lips.

Next, you can find a pencil that matches the same color hue as your lipstick shade. If your lipstick is a dark bold color shade, look for a pencil that is a shade lighter. If your lipstick is a light shade, try to find one that matches it. Now trace the pencil around the inside edges of your lips and fill in the lines. Finally, blot your lips.

When applying your lipstick, you can use it straight from the tube instead of using a brush, as many women think they should do. But don’t overdo it. If you wish, you can also brush a tiny bit of powder over your lips to help the lipstick stay put. Do this with a fluffy brush and be sure to only dust a tiny bit onto your brush and lips.

Now your lipstick should stay put for many hours. It may even stay put while you eat, drink or kiss your favorite guy, if the brand is a good one.
