A couple months ago I remember getting ready before going barhopping that night around parts of Seattle at a good friend’s house. She was doing her makeup while I was fixing my hair. She showed me this amazing hair management product that her mother gave her for Christmas last year. The product was called Loma Pearatin Fortifying Repairative Serum (right)—long name, good product. I put a dime size drop on my fingers and rubbed my hands together, then smoothed it through my dry hair. The result was amazing.
My hair was instantly shiny from the roots to tips. It was tangle-free and this serum had eliminated virtually all of my split ends in a matter of minutes. I was instantly hooked. The product was smooth and glossy, not oily and greasy. From the product description: “Leave-in, time released keratin and apricot protein repairative serum that mends dry hair while imparting texture, shine and managability. Enjoy healthier, shinier hair instantly!” It smells amazing and it’s been formulated for all hair types! I highly recommend it. You can pick it up at specialty salon stores all over or online. It retails for $15.99 for 3.4 ounces, which isn’t much. Just goes to show, you’re paying for quality that works rather than quantity that’s so-so.
My other top hair management product is Aveda Brilliant Damage Control (left) hair serum. I love this product; I usually spritz it on after I get out of the shower, while my hair is still damn. It smells like a delicious concoction of flowers. It is formulated specifically to handle heat stress on your hair. So if you’re a blow-drying or flat ironing queen. Rejoice! I recommend using it on freshly washed hair and then following your styling routine with a blow dryer or flat iron as usual. It will add volume to fine and medium hair and texture to short hairstyles.
It’s also a protectant against UV rays that can cause hair breakage. It strengthens your hair follicles so you’ll lose less hair when combing out your lovely mane. The main ingredients are all natural, with the quality standards you’d expect from Aveda. These ingredients are: aloe, black tea, calendula and chamomile. All of these ingredients are certified organic. It too, is formulated for all hair types. This is an excellent product. You can pick it up at Aveda beauty salons or online. It retails for $15.00 for 8.5 ounces. You get a considerable amount of product for the price.
